What is A5 Melamine?

A5 melamine, also called melamine moulding compound(MMC), is the main component of melamine formaldehyde resin. Which is made of melamine-formaldehyde resin as the base material and “Alpha” cellulose as the filler, adding pigments and other additives. According to the colour, there are white melamine molding compound and colorized melamine molding compound.

Non-toxic and odourless: It is a non-toxic and odourless material suitable for food contact products such as tableware.

High purity: It has a high purity due to the purification process used in the production process to ensure that impurities are minimized.

Thermal stability: It can withstand temperatures up to +120 degrees Celsius and has good low-temperature resistance, suitable for temperatures ranging from -20℃ to +110℃.

Stable chemical properties: excellent corrosion resistance, able to resist the erosion of acids, alkalis and other chemicals.

High strength and hardness: It is superior to many other plastic materials in terms of strength and hardness.

Dimensional stability: Smaller dimensional changes under thermal expansion and contraction are advantageous for applications with high dimensional requirements.

Low water absorption: It has a low water absorption rate, making it ideal for applications that require moisture resistance

Easy to mould: it can be easily moulded and processed into various product forms.

A5 Melamine Applications

Due to its characteristics, it is mainly used in the production of various melamine imitation porcelain tableware, such as dinner plates, fruit plates series, rice bowls, soup bowls, salad bowls, children’s bowls, plates, compartmentalized plates, knives, forks, spoons, insulating mats, coasters, pot mats series; water cups, coffee cups, wine glasses series; all kinds of sets, salad series, kitchen and bathroom utensils; ashtrays, pet products, and other western-style tableware, and so on—plastic products for hotels, schools, fast food restaurants, families and other areas with various requirements.
